Pennsburg Fire Company proudly serves Pennsburg Borough, Upper Hanover Township, and our surrounding communities with one unwavering commitment: being ready to respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We are a 100% volunteer organization. Our members freely give their time to protect lives, homes, and businesses — responding to fires, rescues, medical emergencies, and public service calls at any hour.

While we are grateful to receive funding from Pennsburg Borough and Upper Hanover Township, those contributions alone do not cover the full cost of operating a modern, fully equipped fire company. The reality is that the expenses required to maintain emergency readiness continue to rise. The cost of apparatus, protective equipment, tools, and lifesaving technology increases each year. In addition, our volunteers dedicate countless hours to advanced training to ensure they can safely and effectively serve our community.

Volunteer fire companies provide another significant benefit to our community: they help reduce the financial burden on taxpayers. By staffing and operating as volunteers, we save residents from the substantially higher taxes that would be required to support a fully career-staffed department. Additionally, maintaining staffing levels, training, and operational readiness helps our community meet ISO standards, which plays an important role in preventing homeowners’ and business insurance premiums from dramatically increasing.
